I5 or i7?

Im gonna hopefully be building a desktop soon and finally move my games off my 2011 macbook air. I currently cant decide which processor i should get although i know i want an intel. I want to be able to play high end games like battlefield 4 and cod advanced warfare on high or max settings with good fps as well as be able to handle engineering software when i go to college next fall. Should i invest in an i7, or is an i5 enough?
Also if you know of any good graphics cards under 200-225, i am still trying to figure that out too..

i7s are generally used for rendering stuff and i5s for gaming. So if ur buying a top of the line i5 processor its more than enough.

I would go with the i5 and use that extra ~$100 towards the video card.

I have the i5-4670k and a nvidia 770 that will run on high max settings, however the 770 is a $350-$400 card depending if you wait for a sale.
